The Leica Ic, produced from 1949 to about 1951, is a finder-less screw-mount Leica with no built-in rangefinder and no viewfinder, built on the die-cast IIIc body for technical, scientific, and copy work. In place of a finder it has two accessory shoes, one for a viewfinder and one for an accessory rangefinder. It has no slow speeds and no flash synchronization, and uses the 39mm screw mount. To shoot one you fit an accessory finder and either focus by scale or add a clip-on rangefinder. The Ic is an inexpensive entry into the screw-mount system for users comfortable with that deliberate way of working, and a body that can be paired with a Visoflex reflex housing.
