The Leica M9-P, released in 2011, is the discreet, professional version of the M9. It removes the red Leica dot from the front, swaps the LCD cover for sapphire glass, and refines several cosmetic details. The 18MP Kodak CCD sensor and core electronics are identical to the M9. Production numbers were lower than the M9 and the M9-P commands a meaningful used-market premium for its stealth aesthetic and slightly improved build.
